Today, the New York Senate finally voted on their marriage equality bill. Unfortunately, we have learned that the bill failed to pass, being voted against 24-38.

Today, the New York Senate finally voted on their marriage equality bill. Unfortunately, we have learned that the bill failed to pass, being voted against 24-38.
Though the bill failed to pass, we applaud the many wonderful Senators that did speak up for the cause this morning and made excellent points to recognize the injustice of holding back the gay community in this fashion.
To quote Sen. Kevin Parker, who stood in favor of the bill this morning:
"We have an opportunity to change our history. This is the time we strike a blow to one of the last inequalities in our country . . . Stand for marriage equality now because it is the right thing to do and now is the time to do it."
