As expected, the Peacock announced Sunday morning that The Jay Leno Show has been cancelled.

"I can confirm that starting Feb. 12, Jay Leno will no longer air at 10 p.m.," said NBC Universal TV chairman Jeff Gaspin. "My goal right now is to keep Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon as part of our late-night lineup. As much as I'd like to tell you we have a done deal, we know that's not true."

NBC has placed the blame of the cancellation on the "affiliates," but we all know the Peacock just can't quit Leno's chin!

In place of Leno, Gaspin expects to fill the 10 pm gap with "two hours of scripted, another reality hour and combination of expanded Dateline or repeats."

Hmmm.. that sounds pretty familiar!

No word on O'Brien's next move, but as we've reported, Conando could either accept the time slot change, move to another network OR take the Peacock's money and run.

Gaspin said that Leno, O'Brien and Fallon were "incredibly gracious and professional" when he broke the news of the late night shake-up…

But what about Last Call with Carson Daly??????

Dear God, won't someone think of Carson??????

(Ha!)
